Susie started dancing when she was four years old at Mission Dance Center in Fremont, CA. She studied classical ballet for ten years to the backdrop of RUN DMC, KRS1, Salt N Peppa, JJ FAD, and Michael Jackson. While earning her doctorate in culture and performance at UCLA's World Arts and Culture Department she studied Polynesian Dance, West African, Locking, House, Salsa, and Afro Cuban Dance. Susie has trained and performed with salsa/modern company Contra Tiempo (Los Angeles) under the direction of Anamaria Alvarez, DREAM Dance Company (Oakland) under the direction of Naomi Bragan, Starchild Dance Collective under the direction of Traci Bartlow, and BodiRock Culture under the direction of Damie Nazapas. Her current inspiration to dance comes from Rennie Harris, Rock Steady Crew, Stevie Wonder, Fela Kuti and the Buddha. Susie joined Malia Movement in 2010.
